Broadband and Dial up Internet services can be obtained from the incumbent Cable & Wireless telecommunications company for the Gros Islet --Rodeny bay area. Internet access is available at most shopping malls and at Cable & Wireless.
The College Campus has an extensive "Wireless(WiFi)" network available to Students, Faculty and Staff.
COMMUNICATIONS
The island has excellent telephone and telefax services. Domestic and international telecommunications services are provided by Cable & Wireless (West Indies).
Cellular phone service providers include Digicel and AT&T Wireless.
Celluar phones are available for rent from the Cable and Wireless Caribbean Cellular offices at the Gablewoods Mall, Rodney Bay and the Castries Waterfront.
ELECTRICAL CONCERNS A reliable supply of electricy is provided at 220-240 volts AC, 50 cycles per second(USA standard is 110-120 volts at 60 cycles per second). WARNING--- check with your laptop owners manual to see if it will operate on 220 volts.
If you bring 110 volt devices, for higher wattate rated appliances(examp: Hair dryers, curling irons, cloths iron, desktop computers...ect.),prepare to purchase a stepdown transformer or Line conditioner that exceeds the higher wattage rating of such appliances.
